昨年12月9日に行われたシリア・ハンターのメモリアル・サービス：'In Celebration of Celia'に出席したフェアバンクスの友人（Mary Shields）が、プログラムを送ってくれました。80歳を過ぎながら、なお遥か遠くの未来を見つめるような深いまなざしのシリアの写真と共に、彼女のメッセージが添えられていました。このBBSをご覧のみなさま、僕に個人的にもメッセージをくださった方々とわかちあうべき、と思いつつ・・・
"I think what I'd like to leave with people of your age is the idea that change is possible but you're going to have to put your energy into it... I'm past 80 now and I'm not going to be the mover and shaker of this but people like you are. And you're going to have to bite the bullet and really decide what kind of world you wanto to live in."
